5 Months Old...
It's almost impossible to get this busy girl to hold still |
She looks so innocent in this pic! :) |
Appearance: Our tiny 4 lb 13 oz baby we brought home from the hospital is no longer a tiny baby. Alee is now weighing about 14 lbs. She has the cutest little body and shape. She has started to get these little rolls on her legs that are so cute; I just want to squeeze them! Her hair has yet to come in, but were keeping our fingers crossed that she'll have hair before she's one. I don't know if all moms think there kids are the cutest, but we really think we have the prettiest little girl. Alee has the sweetest little face! She has these pretty almond shaped eyes, a cute button nose, and these pouty little lips. This little girl probably gets more compliments than anyone! :D
Likes: Alee loves her toes! She will lay on her back and chew on her little toes forever. It is so funny to watch her bend her leg all the way up by her head and put her foot in her mouth! :D I'm surprised when she pulls her foot out that she has any toes left with the way she chews on them. Alee loves playing in her baby Einstein bouncer she got for christmas from her grandma Lisa. She goes crazy in this thing. She loves to push and pull on all the little toys and be bounces around like a maniac. I'll have to post a video later to show this little girl in action. She has some strong legs and she can really get to bouncing!
Alee also likes: her baths, when daddy comes home, watching other kids play, and anything she can get in her mouth.
Dislikes: Alee is the happiest little girl, there isn't much she dislikes. However; when she doesn't like something her face turns red and she lets out a little grunt. It's pretty funny! Things she dislikes...She doesn't like when I try to wash under her chin during bath time, she doesn't like when I rub lotion on her face, and she definitely doesn't like waiting for her baba!
Sleeping/naps: Naps...what is that? Alee rarely takes a nap longer than 30-40 min. Her best naps are in the morning shortly after she has eaten and then around seven P.M. She is a busy little girl and doesn't like to miss out on anything. She is finally starting to sleep through most of the night. We usually give her a bath, feed her, and have her in bed around 9:00. She will usually sleep until about 5:30-6 a.m., eats, then goes back to sleep until about 8:30. There have been a few nights she has slept all through the night and it has been heaven! I forgot what it was like to get more than 5 hrs of sleep.
New things she's doing: Alee has mastered rolling over. We put her on her back and before we can turn around she is flipped over on her belly and ready to play. She has not yet started crawling but if she needs to get somewhere she will roll there! Alee has also started to talk a little...she has started saying "dada!" I was a little sad that she didn't say mama first...come on!...I gave birth to her, I feed her, and spend the most time with her...what the heck! :) What can I say...she loves her dada! Alee has also got pretty good at laughing. Todd can make her laugh better than I can but it is so cute!
Food: For the most part Alee's diet has pretty much consisted of just mama's milk. Towards the middle of Jan we did start to put a little oatmeal in her bottle to see if it would help keep her satisfied through the night. At first she wasn't quite sure about it but she seems to love it now. We've tried to feed her some squash, but she hasn't quite mastered swallowing. It usually makes it in her mouth just long enough for her to spit it back out. Were still working on it...
What we love about her: There are so many things we LOVE about our little Alee bug! She is always so happy. I don't know if there has been a morning that she hasn't woke up with a big smile on her face...it just melts my heart! She hardly ever cries unless she is really tired and then it really doesn't last long. We love her cute personality and we can't wait to see more and she grows. We love all the funny noises and faces she pulls...she's quite the crack up sometimes. We love that we were chosen to be her parents and now we could never imagine our lives without her! It's crazy how much joy Alee has brought to our lives.
